Kanye West may be bound for court over a sample on his single "Bound 2."
According to the "New York Daily News," former child singer Ricky Spicer has filed a lawsuit against Kanye for using his voice in the song without his permission. When Spicer was 12-years-old, he was part of the group The Ponderosa Twins Plus One, who recorded the original "Bound," which is the basis for Kanye's sequel.
Because his voice is "heard several times" on Kanye's track, Spicer is demanding that the rap star compensate him or stop using his voice on the track.
Apart from Kanye, the lawsuit also lists Roc-A-Fella Records, Island Def-Jam Music, Rhino Entertainment and Universal Music Group as defendants.
